This is my new home.

I’m finally all settled home and I love it. It’s cozy, I’ve had friends over already and they seemed to love it too.
Even my birdie Benji seems to love it.

It’s a good place to come home to and relax, especially after work. Work is hard and stressful, even more so now that I’ve been promoted and have more responsibilities. One of my co-workers was fired, due to the fact that our district manager and his boss saw him not really working and ignoring customers. After a full day of me talking to him, our assistant manager, and our d.m’s boss talked to him, the head honcho saw no improvement. So we are severely short staffed, we went from 8 full time employees and 3 part time employees, to 6 fulltime and 2 part time employees. We have one associate who gave her two weeks notice, and another is on his way to being let go as soon as we find two new employees. At least we already found one so far. So there is hope.
But, it’s very relaxing to sit and have a drink, and come home to this wonderful view.

Finally, I have moved. I spent $1000 fixing up the place, not to mention a week of work to get it all done. Still no internet, or cable t.v. though. But I do have Friends, Survivorman, and Rescue Me dvds to tie me over. My dog is here, learning to be part of the Chihuahua pack. My bird is happy to be the only bird in the house, he sings alot and he started liking the hubby enough to start stepping up on him. And we’ve invited friends over, we had our first barbecue at our house. I’m enjoying playing house, even though its really expensive. Groceries are expensive, so was buying cleaning supplies, cooking supplies and various appliances. Me and the hubby had our first fight, over stupid stuff, and boy was it intense. My mom and sister [and the bird] miss me alot, but I still see them at least once a week. They have yet to come over but they will soon, now that the house is ready. The neighbors suck, they haven’t let go that their house has been sold and they can no longer control it. They like to complain that we leave the lights on “all night”, and all night means from 10:00 to midnight while we move stuff in or work on the house. There was an accident in our driveway, a truck turned a corner too quickly and lost control, hit a boulder by our house and flipped onto its roof. Everyone survived, thank god. The driver came back to thank everyone who helped them out of their truck and took care of them while the ambulance came.
We lost two employees at my work, going on a third who will be leaving soon for another job that gives benefits. This means lots of overtime, but I am burnt out. Our district manager told us [by us, I mean me, manager and assistant manager] we just needed to work harder. As if working a 50 hour work week [for non salary employees, like me] isnt actually working. I worked a 96 hour pay period, all for an extra $50. The rest of the $200 was taken out for taxes. This is the only part of my life that sucks. But it’s an easy fix, because I’m just too burned out to work extra hours.
